I previously made a scrapbook post about my astronomy project called AstroWatching, where you can look at a map of stars and observe information about them. You can look around in a real 3D representation of space, complete with Earth, stars, a galaxy, and a real background of space. I used MongoDB and websockets to power the backend, and there's a database of 100,000+ stars I am pulling from - you can search a star by its ID, so try 11734 for the North Star, for example. I'm happy to make a progress update about the app. Now, there is a setting to enable/disable the Earth in AstroWatching to see stars that are otherwise blocked by it. The Earth is not accurate yet, but in the future, I plan to have the side of the Earth face a certain point space so that it is fully accurate to how it really is. Right now, the Earth is just a spinning sphere. You can also enable/disable the 1,000 brightest stars. Each blue dot is one of the bright stars, and if you disable the 1,000 brightest stars you will find that the brightest parts of the night sky are all covered by a blue dot. In the future, I hope to automatically load representations of stars as the user zooms into some certain part of the screen, as there are many, many more than 1,000 stars. The brightest blue dots have the highest declination and thus are the most northernmost on the celestial sphere, so if you use the 3D viewer and look to the top, you will see the North Star right at the location of the brightest blue dot. Some problems right now are that the app knows which stars are the 1,000 brightest, but not specifically which is which. I need to figure out how to ID each blue dot so that a user can just click it and get information right away. Also, the 3D background takes way too much data and I need to figure out how to cut that down. Although I was planning on adding more to this progress update, Arcade is ending, so this will be my last scrapbook post. I really liked Arcade and it motivated me to create new things. You can try AstroWatching here! eddyzow.net/astrowatching Github Folder: github.com/eddyzow/eddyzow.github.io/tree/main/docs/astrowatching Last Commit: github.com/eddyzow/eddyzow.github.io/commit/c73652ed9a890d12f7fe462cafb5eae034019267

I finished making some quick little fixes to my cycloidal gearbox, to adapt to the new motor pcbs I designed. I have a flex cable magnetic encoder up top, and a 11mm diameter motor driver pcb on the bottom. The gearbox motion system itself has also changed a little bit, going from 3 screws and 3 roller pins, to just 3 screws total (they are acting as the roller pins) The gearbox height has decreased 6mm vertically too (magnet taking up less space)! Tear Away is a personal venting and reflection app designed to help users release their thoughts. It provides a supportive space with guided questions to encourage deeper self-reflection and emotional growth. In this WIP I worked on designing the logo and the wireframe for the app. I planned out and designed the main pages for the app, and how I wanted it to look like and what purpose they will serve. I have also created an animated splashcreen and designed a 25-second introductory-sort of sequence, which will be the first things to play once a user opens the app. The foundation of the app is planned out and started! github.com/neptvnism/TearAway

This is a simple Python game I made to kinda simulate the decision-making process during the space race from the soviet side to show the stress the astronauts would have experienced based on what we learned from history. github.com/arp2019-Dev/SpaceRace-Game

The Space Game, pretty much your shooting a bunch of aliens that are coming down to break your ship. If you shoot the bombs coming down to hit the ship, a sprite animation loads of the bomb blasting. Additionally, if you shoot the alien, they also blow up with an animation.

Hi there! I just finished my second app ever, Cosmic Odyssey. It's the first game i've made with xcode so its not exactly perfect, but i think its a lot of fun. Its basically a space themed pop the lock game. It tracks your progress with achievments and saves your highschores as well! Im still working on getting my developer license processed, so for now its just the github link. Look out for the link to the game in the future though! I also tracked my hours with #C06SBHMQU8G|. I just finished developing a local two-player game in Python! This project involved designing and coding a 2D space shooting game using the Pygame library. The game allows two players to control spaceships on opposite sides of the screen, with the objective of depleting the opponent's health by firing bullets. The game features a countdown timer, sound effects, and dynamic backgrounds that change based on the game's outcome (win, lose, or draw). It was a great experience working through the mechanics of player movement, collision detection, and game state management. Looking forward to further refining the game and exploring more complex projects in the future! github.com/mochanicious/Python-Local-Two-Player-Game
