Messed around with variable names, added a couple of better/more readable variable names, etc. Honestly it makes the code look so much more clean. I also made sure we used an external nvs handle so we don't keep reopening it. Along with that I modified the sdkconfig so that the partitioning allows for more space. Link: github.com/dj1ch/HomeNet

I spent a couple hours today trying to get all the components to fit on a 2s battery 40 amp modular PSU pcb I'm currently routing. On my small board, just a USB-C connector takes a HUGE amount of space. Its like half the height of the board! I'll try to make it work, but space is sure at a premium, and I don't want to skimp on copper trace thickness either. This board is part of a larger modular control board project called CACKLE, Card Adaptable Controller Kinetic Link Electronics. github.com/techy-robot/CACKLE

Today I have made a playable version of bingguessr, a geoguessr-like game with Bing Streetside imagery and A-Frame & Maptalks for rendering. Updated pop music website! Fixed slideshow, updated navigation bar, hamburger menu and also improved on the JavaScript code... My goal with this is to convince our school to let us have a space for student websites that we'd voluntarily make for fun… If anything I'm learning something new by making a site about a hobby

I previously made a scrapbook post about my astronomy project called AstroWatching, where you can look at a map of stars and observe information about them. You can look around in a real 3D representation of space, complete with Earth, stars, a galaxy, and a real background of space. I used MongoDB and websockets to power the backend, and there's a database of 100,000+ stars I am pulling from - you can search a star by its ID, so try 11734 for the North Star, for example. I'm happy to make a progress update about the app. Now, there is a setting to enable/disable the Earth in AstroWatching to see stars that are otherwise blocked by it. The Earth is not accurate yet, but in the future, I plan to have the side of the Earth face a certain point space so that it is fully accurate to how it really is. Right now, the Earth is just a spinning sphere. You can also enable/disable the 1,000 brightest stars. Each blue dot is one of the bright stars, and if you disable the 1,000 brightest stars you will find that the brightest parts of the night sky are all covered by a blue dot. In the future, I hope to automatically load representations of stars as the user zooms into some certain part of the screen, as there are many, many more than 1,000 stars. The brightest blue dots have the highest declination and thus are the most northernmost on the celestial sphere, so if you use the 3D viewer and look to the top, you will see the North Star right at the location of the brightest blue dot. Some problems right now are that the app knows which stars are the 1,000 brightest, but not specifically which is which. I need to figure out how to ID each blue dot so that a user can just click it and get information right away. Also, the 3D background takes way too much data and I need to figure out how to cut that down. Although I was planning on adding more to this progress update, Arcade is ending, so this will be my last scrapbook post. I really liked Arcade and it motivated me to create new things. I finished making some quick little fixes to my cycloidal gearbox, to adapt to the new motor pcbs I designed. I have a flex cable magnetic encoder up top, and a 11mm diameter motor driver pcb on the bottom. The gearbox motion system itself has also changed a little bit, going from 3 screws and 3 roller pins, to just 3 screws total (they are acting as the roller pins) The gearbox height has decreased 6mm vertically too (magnet taking up less space)! I finished designing a 2 cell battery charge, monitor and protector for my motor control test board. This is very packed, with the PSU size coming in around 15x45mm (tacked onto the existing MCU board). There is not much space to shrink the design more. A lot of reading documantation, switched the build core to arduino-pico. core0 now runs tasks, core1 runs the control loop. core0 will initialize everything and then start core1. Implement a basic task system, it prioritizes the tasks that haven't run for the longest + takes into account their priority (timesincelast_run * priority), default priority is 10. 0 - task will never run, 50 - most important.
