@magicfrog1possibly the strangest art project i've made! i have an weird obsession with the orange trident gum flavour and i was just goofing around one day with the packaging when i got the most random idea ever.
✨ the gum room ✨ (:heavysob:), a goofy mini room with a bed, table, closet and other stuff made with a very interesting materials... gum boxes, gum wrappers, and gum ofc (most of it soft-ifyed in a bowl of water with chopsticks ok).
i hope you enjoy, i guess?
(also since the slack image limit is 10, im adding one more in the thread of the very beginning)
@DillonB070Maybe you don’t use Spotify but you want a way to share what you’re listening to? Or what if you want to share the Steam game you’re playing?
Look no further than @SlickStats ! You visit the app home to connect it to your account and then input your last.fm and Steam API keys for your status to magically update with what you’re listening to or playing!
I spent a looong time working on OAuth for this, but I’m really happy that it’s finally done.
I’m open for suggestions of other services to add!
One caveat: your automatic huddle status will get overwritten because it’s not technically a status - I’ll fix this eventually
It’s all open source at github.com/DillonB07/SlickStats if you want to check it out!
@ajhalili20060Let's do a quick showdown of what's been cooking for #C07NUNPGEU8| during the week of September 22 to 28, Philippines Standard Time. Apologies if this week's been a hell week due to being the 1st quarterly exam on the 25th and 26th day of September, 2024.
The bulk of the coding hours in the week are dedicated to building the MVP features for the Slack app version of Recap Time Bot, our multi-purpose toolkit/service account/bot for Recap Time Squad's projects and friends, including hooking up Prisma ORM for Postgres data presistence on Nest (instead of coping up with the Airtable free tier limits) and building up some workflows via TypeScript Slack app development work (permission requests for accessing some bot features and slash commands). See the attached screenshots for a sneak peek.
The rest is mostly infrastructure related work for both my personal and Recap Time Squad cloud resources (mainly Cloudflare DNS records over octoDNS and some Docker Compose shenanigans), plus some behind the scenes work for my website powered by Material for Mkdocs theme.
Overall, I banked 10h 11m as of time of writing (up to the publication of this scrapbook entry), totaling to 14h 46m since September 17 (plus 10m designing for fun and profit) without the 'browsing' hours. See the thread for details on the stats.
@EvanGan0Got a slack bot downtime notifier working! Going to integrate it with past projects tomorrow & continue with my slack bot template/toolkit.
@EvanGan0Today I put my pronoun counter on github after cleaning up the code a bit and writing some instructions up. You can find it here. I also started working on a slack bot template for typescript but faced some odd errors I had never seen before that were not happening on a copy of the code.
@Eny0Update 2
I’m now ~7 hours into #C07NUNPGEU8|! My rusty slack bot is now <https://github.com/EnyCode/pigeon|open source>! It’s called pigeon because there's just so many where I live.
Today, I got events working, updated the post message function to have ore stuff, got ephemeral messaging working, and made my own simple cron library in roughly half an hour!
Tomorrow, I want to get slash commands working and I want to work on modals.
@EvanGan0Worked on my pronoun counter today & got some results! I wouldn't say they are conclusive as nearly 4/5ths of the folks on slack have unset pronouns, but interesting none the less. If anybody's curious/wants to see the code I use for this I'm happy to put it up on GitHub, it just needs a bit of cleaning.
@DillonB070I updated @MailTale to use a multiline input instead of several different fields for address lines. This makes it a lot easier for me as people can put in the address in the correct format for their country. I also had to manually update 36 addresses to the new format and have read a lot of PDFs about addresses today :pf:
Also wanted to make the lower stack views update once you update your information, but I discovered a bug in Slack’s API that prevents me from doing that which is amazing. Filed a report and hoping to hear back Monday!
@EvanGan0Yesterday I revised my script to grab all user ID's on slack to sort them by most recently updated profile because join date was not accessible with the method I was using to get the ID's. I also wrote a script to grab the pronouns from each ID I got previously which I ran overnight because it took 11 hours to run due to slack's rate limits & I had to preform an individual request for every user, all 49663 of them. Here's a list of all the slack ID's in slack as of yesterday if you want:
@Eny0Update 1
It's the first day of #C07NUNPGEU8|! Yesterday, I worked on my Slack bot made in rust! I rewrote the events system basically entirely and almost got stuff mostly working.
(theres no gh yet, so have an image of wakatime from yesterday)
[edit: there is now a GitHub @ github.com/EnyCode/pigeon]
@OliviaChen0Arcade is ending ;(( so here is part 2 of my last scrapbook post. I’ve put together a small collection of cryptography puzzles in a form that slightly resembles CTF games. Along with it, I’ve written scripts to solve ciphers based on human input in a variety of languages. Some of these scripts match up with the puzzles, but their amount greatly outnumbers the number of puzzles I’ve written. While I’m not finished and many of my scripts haven’t been fully completed and quality checked, I’ve learned a lot about coding, puzzle designing, and even Github in this process. Find them all here: github.com/viamarkable/ctf !!!

@AdityaPV0I had started to make a capitalist slack bot (inspired by @/bag)
you could buy shares
start businesses
make virtual money
buy cars
a lot more business stuff...
.
couldn't finish it...
@Capitalistgithub.com/Vipremigini/Capitalist
@Angad0I built Shroud, a Slack bot that allows for anonymous reporting whilst retaining live, bidirectional communication. I envision this being used as a way to report Code of Conduct violations in an anonymous manner.
Reports are sent to a central channel. The report can then be replied to, forwarding the reply to the reporter's DM with the bot.
@jeslyn0Ukulele Playlist of my covers online! Added 3 new songs, Say Something, Understand, and Pluto Projector. Practiced more ukulele techniques with fingerpicking, sliding, barre chords, etc! Implemented them into this site. (Note that there's two repos on GitHub, one for the covers- one for the website implementation.) (Ps: I know there is some ambiugity about these hours, but Zach approved them last time here.)
@Victorio0Only Once
This is a little slack-game?? kinda, its a bot that controls a channel, in the channel anyone can join through #C07JGDNQ91U| to be added to the private channel, there if you send a message someone else has sent before or above 300 characters, youll get banned. It uses an sqlite database and boltjs on typescript. Also theres a logs channel #C07JQF74HQT|. It's hosted on Nest.
You can try it now in #C07JGDNQ91U|github.com/v1ctorio/slack-only-once
